Temporary Procedural Change to be removed from Clerical Job Call

Effective March 9th, 2022 the Clerical Job Call will return to the method utilized prior to the pandemic when filling open positions. As part of the 2014 Procedure and Ground Rules for Clerical Job Calls agreement, a management designee is required to participate in the conference call for the purpose of ensuring call center employees who are at work, but stuck on a customer call, are not bypassed in the offering of open positions. Since employees began working remotely back in early 2020 (to mitigate Covid exposure) a procedural change was instituted to address the Company’s inability to adhere to the requirement of having a manager on the call to verify employee’s work status. The Union and Company continued to engage in discussions about this issue since the pandemic began. Recently the Company contacted Local 15 with a solution and has committed to ensuring that a manager will be on the call to prevent any bypass of employees who are stuck on calls with customers.

All eligible bidders who are listed on the job call sheet are expected to dial in and participate in the Clerical Selection Call that occurs each Wednesday at 1pm. If you are unable to attend the call you can still submit an email proxy with your preference for the applicable job posting no later than 9:00 am the day of the call. Any applicant who is not present on the call and does not attend or submit a proxy in advance of the call shall be bypassed (unless they are stuck on a customer call). All acceptances or declines of job offers on these job calls will be final. The Company has already begun to communicate this return to the original process via email and will continue to reinforce this requirement on all job calls prior to March 9th, 2022.
