Invenergy Employees Vote to become IBEW Local 15 Members

IBEW Local 15 has been working on organizing the employees at Invenergy’s

Natural Gas and Hydrogen Production facility in Rock Falls, IL for the past few months. IBEW Local 15 met with the employees to discuss the benefits of joining a Union, received a 70% majority of authorization cards, filed a petition for an election with the NLRB and then represented the employees at the election on September 4th, 2024. President Riser and VP Busser are proud to announce that the employees voted 17 yes to 1 no in favor of becoming IBEW Local 15 members! VP Busser, Business Representative John Richards and Chief Steward Scott Ragan were involved in this organizing process from Local 15 as well as Lynn Arwood from the International Office.

What happens next?

Invenergy has 7 days to challenge or contest the election results. If there is not a challenge within 7 days, the election results will be final. Then IBEW Local 15 will poll the employees on what they want to have in their contract as well as request information from the Company. A negotiating committee will be assembled and contract negotiations will begin. IBEW Local 15 is always looking for ways to increase our membership and help more middle class working families. President Riser and VP Busser are excited for this opportunity and honored to be part of this adventure.
