IBEW 15 Assistant Business Managers/Business Representatives Michael Freeman and Sam Studer continue to meet with Company representatives to discuss the future utilization of Liability Representatives and Meter Readers as wire watchers in order to help increase the number of bargaining unit employees assigned to assist with wire watching duties as well as to help provide relief to employees sitting on wires during SRP events. Discussions have also included improvements to the wire watching process itself, including greater oversight of employees dispatched to downed wires as well as tracking hours worked and meal periods due, amongst other items. Liability Representatives and Meter Readers have already been provided with Wire Watching training, but after feedback from Local 15 the Company is now working on developing additional training in order to ensure our members can safely perform wire watching work prior to being utilized in this capacity.
