State Senator Hastings visits Quad Cities Station

Quad Cities Station employees welcomed Illinois Senator Mike Hastings for a plant tour on Tuesday, December 15th. Hastings, Chairman of the Illinois Senate Energy Committee, was joined on the tour by IBEW 15 President Terry McGoldrick and Vice-President Bill Phillips and the plant’s senior management. Over three-hundred IBEW 15 members are employed at Quad Cities, not including ComEd employees who also perform work there.


Senator Hastings was also joined by his senior staff, and former Quad Cities State Senator Mike Jacobs. The Quad Cities Site Vice President and Plant Manager led the tour that included stops at Trackway 2 Extension, the Refuel Floor, Unit 1 Hydraulic Control Units (HCUs) and the MMD Shop where Senator Hastings spoke to a number of employees before ending his visit. In 2012, Hastings was elected from State Senate District 19. The district straddles northwestern Will and southwestern Cook counties and covers all or parts of Country Club Hills, Flossmoor, Frankfort, Harvey, Hazel Crest, Homer Glen, Homewood, Joliet, Lockport, Markham, Matteson, Mokena, New Lenox, Oak Forest, Olympia Fields, Orland Hills, Orland Park, Park Forest, Richton Park, Tinley Park, and University Park.


Hastings is Chairman of the Senate Energy & Public Utilities committee and serves as the Majority Caucus whip.
