SUPPORT THE CLIMATE UNION JOBS ACT
HB 1472 & SB 1100

Local 15 Leadership needs your help to support the “Climate Union Jobs Act”. The following are just a few of the reasons this legislation is good for Illinois and Illinois Labor Unions.

It helps preserve Illinois nuclear plants and all the jobs and economic value created by the plants remaining operational.
The Act intends to create hundreds of new union jobs by mandating new clean energy projects that receive state subsidies use union labor.
It will reset standard ratemaking procedures subjecting proposed rate hikes to greater regulatory scrutiny.
Works to build a more equitable and inclusive work force by recruiting more diverse candidates.
Establishes a Displaced Energy Workers Bill of Rights that would provide advance notice of power plant closures and other benefits such as employment assistance, scholarships for Illinois institutions and trade schools and some insurance benefits.
