SSG Contract Ratified

Today, October 8th, all available SSG members were assembled at Commercial Center in Oak Brook to hear details of the negotiated changes to the SSG CBA. Senior Assistant Business Manager, Mike Freeman, led the discussion, detailing the proposal to the members. After the roll out, 67 SSG members, voted 64 yes and 3 no, ratifying the new 3 year contract!


Highlights of the new SSG contract include;


  • 3% raise increases over the next 3 years, with an additional wage adjustment of $.25 in 2025 and 2026 applied prior to the 3% calculation. (combined minimum 3.5% GWI in the first 2 years)


  • 40 hours of paid sick time, with a 40-hour carryover and an 80-hour max, which can be paid out at retirement.


  • Guaranteed scheduled 40-hour work week for the entire group.


  • Inclement weather clause.


  • Ability to work scheduled overtime in limited scenarios, incurring a penalty to the affected work group(s). Language protects the O&C status of work for overhead and underground.


  • Added SSG as wire watchers to the SRP agreement.


  • Added parental leave language.


  • Ratification Bonus.


  • Improvements to the grievance process.


  • Improvements to Overtime language consistent with other work groups on 10-hour days.
