IBEW Local 15 Scholarship Winners

IBEW Local 15 President/Business Manager Chris Riser is pleased to announce the winners of the 18th Annual IBEW Local 15 Scholarship Award.  Ten $1,000 Scholarships were awarded, one scholarship as "The Billy Phillips Scholarship", after our late Vice-President, Billy Phillips.

Thank you to all the Local 15 Members, spouses or domestic partners, and their dependents who applied for the scholarship.

Sophie Rejkowski

Sophie will be continuing her education at The University of Texas at Austin.  Her area of focus is Audiology: Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences.  Sophie is the daughter of Bryan Rejkowski, a New Construction Representative at the Lincoln Center.

Alyssa Zellers

Rock Valley College is where Alyssa will attend to further her education and work towards her Associate’s degree of Nursing.  She is the daughter of Colby Zellers, a Senior Fuel Handler at LaSalle Station.

Cody Taylor

Cody is the son of Robert Taylor, a Nuclear Station Operator at LaSalle Station.  He will be attending Joliet Junior College in pursuit of a degree in operating engineering.

Colin Pfeifer

Colin Pfeifer is the son of Joseph Pfeifer, Nuclear Senior Mechanic out of Braidwood.  Colin will be continuing his education at Purdue University Northwest en route to a degree in finance.

Cody Park (Billy Phillips Scholarship)

Cody will be attending the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign.  It is there that he will continue his studies towards a Master of Science in Materials Science and Engineering.  His father is Sonny Park, a Nuclear Senior Mechanic at Braidwood Station.

Gabriele Hoyle

The daughter of Christine Hoyle, Office Service Specialist at the Byron Nuclear Station, Gabriele will be working towards her BS in Health Sciences at Northern Illinois University.

Lux Tran

Lux is the son of Quoc Tran, Nuclear Senior Mechanic out of Byron Station.  He will be attending the University of Illinois at Chicago, working towards his degree in Pre-Dentistry / Biological Science.

Karen Raschke

Karen will continue her education at Arizona State University, where she will progress towards a Master’s degree of History.  She is the daughter of Donna Raschke, General Service Representative from the Rockford headquarters.

Peyton Lewis

Peyton will be studying toward her Bachelor’s degree of Architecture at Florida A&M University.  She is the daughter of Tony Lewis, an Overhead Electrician Specialist in Joliet.

Colton McGlynn

Colton will be attending Highland Community College in pursuit of his Associate’s degree of Science.  He is the son of Shawn McGlynn, a Nuclear Senior Mechanic at Byron Station.
