To all our Local 15 Brothers and Sisters, we wish you a Fun, Happy, and Safe 4th of July!

The Historical Significance of the 4th of July

Every year, the 4th of July brings communities together to celebrate the birth of American independence. This day marks the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, a pivotal moment in history when the thirteen American colonies declared their freedom from British rule. The document, primarily authored by Thomas Jefferson, eloquently expressed the colonies' desire for self-governance and the fundamental rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

The 4th of July has evolved from a formal declaration into a vibrant celebration of American culture and values. Festivities often include fireworks, parades, barbecues, and family gatherings, all of which reflect the spirit of unity and patriotism. Communities across the nation come together to honor the sacrifices made by those who fought for freedom and to acknowledge the ongoing journey toward a more perfect union.

A Reminder to Stay Safe

As we celebrate, please take a moment to prioritize safety—whether you’re attending a fireworks display, hosting a barbecue, or participating in a parade. Let’s ensure that our celebrations are not only joyful but also safe for everyone involved.

Stay safe, celebrate well, and let freedom ring!

Happy 250th Anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence!
