Call Center Assist

IBEW Local 15 Assistant Business Manager/Business Representative Michael Freeman and Business Representative Fabian Vela continue to meet with Company representatives from ComEd to discuss greater utilization of internal resources during a major event. The discussions revolve around engaging bargaining unit employees from outside of the call center to assist with the handling of the high volume of customer calls and inquiries that come in during a major storm. The next meeting is scheduled for February the 5th, 2021.

GSR Safety Council

The implementation of a GSR (General Service Representative) specific Safety Council for New Business continues to progress. IBEW Local 15 Assistant Business Manager/Business Representative Michael Freeman and Business Representative Fabian Vela met with Company representatives on January 26th, 2021 to finalize plans for the kick-off, which is tentatively scheduled for February 10th, 2021. The Council will include GSR representatives from every office and will include both the CIPA and Residential Design workgroups. This GSR-specific safety council is being created to address the unique Safety issues GSRs face, which include both field and office hazards. Discussions also continue regarding the revitalization of the safety councils in the New Business Central department at Lincoln Center 2 as well as for the departments located at the Commercial Center such as Billing, Revenue Management and Field and Meter Services. The goal is to better engage our clerical members in the Safety Councils, as was originally intended when the Safety Councils were revitalized more than 10 years ago.

Clerical Pilot

IBEW Local 15 Assistant Business Manager/Business Representative Michael Freeman and Business Representative Fabian Vela have been engaged in discussions with the Company to finalize converting the Clerical Pilot for the C&M workgroup (that helped define and put work back on our members desks) from a pilot to a permanent agreement. The Pilot originally started back in 2012 and moved from region to region over the next several years identifying work that belonged to the represented workers in these areas. The goal of the pilot was to define each task that was performed and try to standardize work practices so that bargaining unit employees in the C&M department handled the same work regardless of office or region. The next meeting regarding this matter is scheduled for February 2nd, 2021.
